Philosophy

The philosophy of education at St. Madeleine Catholic School is concerned with supporting parents as the primary educators of their children and helping all students become more aware of developing their own potential in the family of God. The ideal of educating the whole child within the framework of doctrine, worship, community, and service is evident in every school activity. There is an emphasis on a developmental approach, whereby staff is sensitive to the spiritual, academic, social, and personal needs of each student.

The parents and staff of St. Madeleine Catholic School will strive to provide for the students a quality education, which stresses Catholic values and prayer in a loving and disciplined community of faith that celebrates the Church and the cultural diversity of St. Madeleine Parish.

Our patroness, St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, set a life-long example of love and self-sacrifice. Here at St. Madeleine Catholic School, we strive to follow her example by establishing a community of love, which is demonstrated and enhanced by the students' faith through service.

The educational experience at St. Madeleine Catholic School will provide the students with the skills necessary to function in society and build a self-confidence that emphasizes independent decision-making.

In developing the whole child, we must not only focus on the significance of working well together, but also the significance of playing well together. Play is an important factor in developing a well-rounded student who is able to interact with others.

The educational program is a continuous process of helping all students develop their potential, thereby gaining personal satisfaction and preparing themselves to assume roles as contributing members of society.
